We rode down to Brodnax, a.k.a. "The Country" as Ethan calls it, where Chris's extended family lives with Grandma & Grandpa Malone. On the way down, Grandma kept telling Ethan that Lita was going to love him and hug him and want to play with him a lot. My cute little inquisitive 2 year old just kept asking questions about her and was very excited. I didn't know how he would actually react to all the family since he doesn't know them very well and he's been a little shy around new people lately. But sure enough, due to all of the stories and excitedment about Aunt Lita, Ethan was glued to her from the moment we stepped in the house. They were instant buddies. They played, ate together, took the dog for a walk and played fetch, and best of all, learned all about the deer head that was mounted on the wall. That's definitely something new about being here in the south. I was just thankful that he didn't connect the fact that it used to be alive. YIKES, that would have broken his little animal loving heart.
Overall it was a great visit and all the boys, both young and old, got in a great workout playing some serious Frisbee. Ethan loved having people to play with around every corner. Tanner was loved by Great Grandma Malone and everyone else as he got passed from one person to the next. We love getting to visit and know our family better.
