Bath Time

Just a couple more cute pictures to share. A fun little note about bath time, it has become Ethan's favorite place to kick! As soon as his little turtle friends hit the water he's a kicking machine. I know he'll love it even more once he can sit on his own and really play.

Watch out! Showing a little leg!

And yes...no worries...the Halloween pictures are coming soon!

A Day in the Park

A couple of weekends ago, Chris and I decided that the weather was too great to pass up (this is before the 90 degree weather came back to haunt us) so we headed out for a day at the park. We went over to a relatively new park near our house that has lots of fields, a huge play area and covered ramadas with grills and picnic tables. We BBQed with some friends, at lots of fun snacks, played a little bocce ball, and just loved every minute of spending the afternoon outside. Here are a few pictures of our fun day, but as usual the camera is usually focused on Ethan. Our cute little smiling boy! He loves being outside and enjoyed every minute of the day. He didn't even care that he missed a nap...just played right through it.

Bocce Ball...the simplest game, yet SO FUN! It's amazing what ideas people make money off of.

Our little park cutie, loving Daddy's glasses

Ummmm....

What a sweet smile! Did you notice the outfit? Totally appropriate park attire right? It's amazing how much more I think through his outfit choices than my own.

I'm Famous

Well...maybe famous is a little bit much. A friend of mine writes an article in the Republic usually featuring family topics. She decided to write about schools and teachers this month and interviewed me from a teachers perspective. Here is a link to the article where I have a few quotes.

This is only part one of the article and I believe the other part should come out pretty soon.

What do you get...

When you cross a baby that's so tired all he wants to do is sleep and one that's so hungry all he wants to do is eat???

Just moments before he had his head to the side, eyes closed dozing off in between bites...so cute. But as ususal the cute moments happen too quick to capture on film.

A New Look for a New Year

For those of you who know me pretty well, you know that I'm pretty much Plain Jane when it comes to my hair. Same haircut for as long as I can remember and with as hot as this last summer was...a ponytail pretty much every day!
So I decided that this year I needed a change and a haircut where I couldn't get away with throwing it up every morning. So here it is...the new look!

Thanks to my wonderful husband and family for a great 24th birthday!!!

Top 10 Reasons...

Being 5 Months Old is the BEST!!!

10. Playing with friends and not having a care in the world when they steal toys because watching someone else playing is still fun.(sorry, it's not a great picture...it's too hard to photograph two babies because they are always moving...just moments before Ethan's friend, Brooke just crawled over and kissed him right on the nose. Sooo cute!!!)
9. Rolling!!!

8. Eating cereal and getting it all over (especially when Daddy is doing the feeding)
7. Staring at myself in the mirror

6. Being able to reach out and grab things (including people's faces) and actually being able to hold my toys and play!

5. Sleeping so well...10 hours at night and falling right to sleep for 3 naps (usually!)

4. Singing songs (Favorites: Itsy Bitsy Spider, Patty Cake, Popcorn Popping)

3. Sitting up with the help of Mom & Dad and being able to see the world. He especially loves to sit at the table and reach out for the menu at restaurants or anything else that's there.

2. Getting to (FINALLY!) wear my 3-6 month clothes! So cute!!

1. Laughing and Giggling!! He loves when we blow on his belly and sometimes he laughs just when other people laugh with him! It's so fun!

New Toys, New Adventures

It's so fun as a mom to sit back and watch your baby explore new things. They stare so intently at every detail of it, then grab it with their hands, and then inevitably give it a little taste. It's amazing how every new thing that they do can be so exciting when you have watched hundreds of other babies do the same thing. There is just something about watching someone you love so much have success with something that they have been working at. Here are a few shots of our little boy exploring some new toys over the last couple of weeks:
