The Party

Birthday Boy, BBQ, Family, Presents, Cake, and his Best Buddy
Doesn't get better than that!
Happy 1st Birthday Tanner Bear!

The Cake Experiment

Choo Choo...All Aboard Tanner's Train!!!

I made an effort this year to make Tanner's birthday cake without a mold. I think it turned out pretty good. I also used store bought icing, partly because of laziness and partly because my husband is completely grossed out by the Crisco in the homemade kind. He says it's due to washing the dishes...I think he's ridiculous because it really does taste better, not to mention looks way better on the cake!

Birthday Morning

We started out the morning of Tanner's birthday with our traditional breakfast of Smiley Face Pancakes. Tanner loved it as he does almost all food.
After breakfast, we sent him on a birthday present hunt. Fun idea, right? Really it was invented just because I didn't want to wrap his present and thought it would be more fun if it was already put together and ready to ride.
He loved his new Mickey ride on airplane, just like his brother's Lightning McQueen car. They now race around the house chasing after one another. So fun!
It's a good thing this propeller is kid-friendly!
We're hoping this toy might encourage the walking!
Our curious little one year old has now mastered the stairs, upward bound. It will be nice once he figures out how to safely come down this giant, all hardwood flight of stairs. For now, I better pull out our baby gate.

Tanner Baby is 1

My baby is 1! How did that happen already?
At one year old:
-Tanner loves to EAT! He's serious about it too! If you are eating something you better have enough for Tan because he's sure to want some...unless it's veggies. He loves bananas, yogurt, oatmeal, meat, cheese, crackers...the list goes on. He's not much of a fan of things that have a wet texture, but I'm sure he'll come around.
-He crawls like a champ and is into everything. He really loves to get into the kitchen cabinets and play with pots, pans, and especially my stackable colanders.
-He loves toys and is happy to crawl into the playroom, even by himself at times, and explore his noise making toys. His all time favorite is his ball popper toy. Tanner can't get enough and loves to hop/dance along to the music.
He's our sweet boy and we love him. We're so happy he's part of our family and it's so fun to see Ethan and Tanner start playing together and so special to see Ethan start becoming protective of him.
Happy 1st Birthday Tanner!

Loving our New Playground

My mom got to come in for a visit shortly after we moved in to our new house. I know the boys loved showing it off to her and especially playing outside on our new playground.

Moving Project #2

Shortly after finishing the dining room, we tackled the living room. We were pretty impressed that we got the whole room done in 1 coat with just 1 gallon of paint. Not too shabby.
We absolutely love the choice we made, such a calm, relaxing color.

Moving Project #1

We've yet to ever have an opportunity to really make a house our own with paint so when the Bingham's gave us the OK to exercise our creative energies, we did! It was my first time painting EVER, and I had a blast doing it. My indecisiveness came out in making the decision, but once that was finished I just went with it.
The dining room project came about as I was searching for paint for the living room. I stumbled upon an awesome shade in the mix match discount section for just $5. I just couldn't pass it up!
