Double Baby Shower

Preggo Couch

The food was AMAZING! It was quite the spread...thanks girls!
Pregnancy Talent!

I was so lucky to be given a double baby shower with Natasha at the end of April. Since our due dates were so close (within 2 weeks), our friends thought it would be fun to have a double shower for both of us together. Natasha is having her 5th and last baby boy so it was easy to tell the presents apart, blue & pink. We were so blessed by all the wonderful gifts and love that was shown to us. Lots of cute clothes, diapers, wipes, and other necessities! Best of all was the great company! It's always such a blast when we have the opportunity to get together for a girl's night...lots of laughs, that's for sure!

Romp 'N Roll

Did I mention we had a super fun Spring Break week? On the agenda today was a trip to our neighborhood "little gym" called Romp 'N Roll. They hold classes and parties there, but to be completely honest, it's a little pricey for me. But during spring break, they held extended Open Gym hours for the same price so we went for it. The kids had so much fun, and I loved watching them. There was tons to do and it was so nice to have them contained in one area, especially the little ones. I was pretty impressed with Ethan's strength as he made it all the way across the monkey bars by himself. Way to go, E!
One funny thing, the kids can't wear shoes in the gym, just socks or bare feet (which I anticipated by bringing socks for them just in case.) What I didn't anticipate is that the parents also can't wear shoes, but MUST wear socks. So needless to say, both Jessica and I had to BUY socks for $1 because we were both wearing sandals. Ridiculous!

Linkhorne Park

I love the park! I love getting outside and enjoying fresh air. I love hanging out, relaxing with friends. And most importantly, I love how much it benefits my boys. I'm not sure if it's just my kids, or boys in general, but playing outside is a necessity for us! When we go outside to play everyone is in better moods, the boys burn off all sorts of energy, and I get to watch them grow and develop physically so much as they attempt new things.
The park at Linkhorne Middle School is my favorite park in Lynchburg. The bummer about this park is it's at a school so we don't get to go very often. So during spring break, we took advantage of school being out and went there to play. The park is huge so there's lots to climb, slide, and hang on. It's great for both older and younger kids, plus they have lots of swings so there's usually no wait. Lucky for me, Ethan has learned to "pump" which means I'm free of swings because Tanner doesn't want to that often.
We're looking forward to summer break when we can go lots more often!

Ethan loved this super fast slide...you can see it sent him flying!

Easter Festivities

What's a holiday without one of Jessica's foam sticker craft projects for the kids! It added a little holiday decor to my fridge! They are the perfect craft project for Ethan though due to how quickly they can be completed.

Easter Bunny & Train Ride

The week of spring break was a ton of fun! Ethan didn't have preschool so we planned something fun just about everyday.
Jessica and I usually walk at the mall one day a week while the kids are at preschool, so we had been watching the set up of the Easter Bunny house and train. More specifically, Tanner & Ian had been checking out the train dying to have a ride. So one day during the break, we headed over to the mall for a ride on the Easter Train. My boys loved it, especially Tanner who is currently in the "choo choo" phase of life. I got to be the lucky one to ride with the kiddos since Jessica is the official photographer and I think she was a little concerned with getting motion sickness on this speedy little thing.
I wasn't quite sure about the Easter bunny with its crazy smile, but the boys both loved him and gave him high fives. The set up of the "Easter Bunny House" was a little funny, complete with eggs of course but also random knick knacks and the part I was most questionable about...a time out bench?!? So if you didn't sit nicely on the bunny's lap do you have to sit on the bench? Who knows???
Coloring Easter Eggs

The day before Easter came up quicker than I realized and we had a pretty busy day planned. Lucky for me, we were heading out to the Wolf's house for dinner (most AMAZING grilled garlic bread ever! Way to go Rudy!) that night and she hadn't colored eggs with her kids either. It might have something to do with us both being 9 months pregnant. So we brought our eggs along with us and had a coloring party that night. The boys were all playing SO well together that we almost forgot to do it that night, but luckily the kids remembered before we left. Needless to say, it was a late evening, but so fun!

The Hunt

Easter was on Sunday this year and it was so nice to be able to take the boys to church and remember the true reason for the Easter season. Ethan just loves primary and especially singing time. I'm amazed at how quickly he learns the songs and often talks to me about the meaning of them as well. This year they are focusing on reading scriptures in Primary and it's helped us a lot as a family to make scripture reading a priority and a habit. Each night he gets to color in a box on his bookmark then turn it in for a prize. He's already filled two bookmarks and just loves it! Even more importantly we've read through almost 2 books in the Book of Mormon and Ethan has the first 4 of the Articles of Faith memorized. I'm grateful for primary teachers and leaders who make it so much fun for him.
After church and naps, the boys were ready to hunt for eggs and lucky for the Easter Bunny, Dad had let the grass grow nice and long so the eggs were more easily hidden. Good thinking Chris! Ethan loved the game of hunting for the eggs. Tanner wasn't too sure what to do at first, but once he realized there was candy inside the eggs he was off and running! And don't you worry, Chris made sure to taste test all the candy before the boys ate it. Thanks Dad!

Family Temple Trip

The weekend after General Conference, we planned a family trip down to the temple in Raleigh. It's only about 2 1/2 hours away and turned out to be the perfect day trip for us. We enjoyed time as a family and loved being able to show the boys a temple that they've never seen. On our drive we had a great time talking, playing games, singing songs, and just enjoying being together. When we got there Chris and I switched off taking the boys to Chick-fil-A for lunch and play time & to a few stores for shopping. It's actually nice at times to have the temple a drive away because it means we are forced to clear our schedules for a whole day and just focus on our time together as a family and our time at the temple. It makes me very grateful for the knowledge and gift from Heavenly Father to know that families can be together forever!
